I finished installing the branches and hung the tissue paper garland in the girl's room! I have to say, I am really pleased with how the whole room came together. A couple of friends asked me to post some pictures of their room and explain the whole process.
This was my vision in pictures:
In the above picture I went with a gray and cream stripe rug. I liked that it added pattern but was still neutral enough to grow with the girl's as their style changes. The crib and changing table are a classic design and look vintage, which is what I was going for.
I had this awesome piece of art from a friend that added a great
graphic element to the wall above the changing table. The black and cream was
neutral and matched any colors we added to the room.
I found some prints that I loved that added a pop of color using pink, coral and
gray/black. The bicycle for two is perfect for 2 of the 3 girls that share the room.
I choose pink, coral and gray tissue paper poms. I love the color combo
and it pulled the colors from the art work and gray rug. This simple installation
added the perfect touch of whimsy to the nursery.
Adding little accents with a nod to nature tied in our branch installation.
This tree ring chalk board I made hangs on simple jute rope.
Of course it wouldn't be a vintage chic room without an old olive picking
basket to hold stuffed animals made from recycled bottles!
Get creative with storage! A metal pale with a chalkboard label serves
as a book bucket, but can be used for anything.
