"A home takes time to grow and become personal. I think this can only be done over years, collecting interesting bits and bobs from holidays, car boot sales and junk shops. Then your character starts to shine through and the house begins to reflect your personality." Sania Pell, stylist/writer
Check out the book, "Decorate" by Holly Becker and Joanna Copestick for more inspiration on this type of style and many more. This has become my go to book for design ideas!

Nautical Charts
I was totally inspired by old nautical charts when I was shopping yesterday. I plan to get one to add to a feature wall in my family room. They have so much versatility...hung on walls yes, but also laid under glass on a coffee table, as a backing for bookshelves, behind glass doors on a cabinet, even wrapping paper!

Wall Quotes
Wall quotes are a perfect way to make a statement! I have this one in my living room and purchased it from a store on etsy.com. Many online sites will create custom ones with whatever wording you like. It comes as a big sticker that you rub on the wall and then peel the back off. If you google wall quote stickers, you will find many websites you can order from...have fun looking!

Farm Kitchen
I love my farm sink from England! Surrounding my sink I keep an essential soap and lotion duo from Anthropologie, potted succulents from Ikea and fresh cut flowers from a neighbor in a tall Potterybarn Vase.
I love the look of my white shaker cabinets with pulls from Restoration Hardware that tie in the honed black granite countertops. To add a little chic, we chose polished carrara marble subway tiles, that reflect the light from our under the cabinet lighting. A window without any divisions lets the outside in and lets light shine on our beautiful faucet!

Bedside Tables
I love my bedside table that I found at Homegoods. It's over sized with two big drawers to keep stuff handy. I keep a couple of mementos on it that I love to look at before bed...Glass stacked ball lamp from Simon Pearce, framed Picasso print (frame from potterybarn), Virgin Mary candle from German market, over sized M from Urban Cottage, picture frame of my mom's parents from Meli Melo. Have fun creating your own bedside collection!

Amazing Wine Racks!
Vintage wine racks like the one my sister Meghan got me from Germany are a great way to display your favorite wines. Mine sits in the corner of our dining room. You can do a google search for a wine rack like mine or search more main stream stores like Potterybarn to find one you like!

Seaside accents
An old wire basket filled with sea inpired goods, is the perfect accent anywhere in your home this summer. I bought my basket at Urban Cottage in Peapack, NJ. The candle is from Anthropologie and some of the other accents are from Potterybarn. Enjoy making your own sea inspired vignette!

Lamps are more than just for light
I love a beautiful lamp! A lamp has to do three things for me in order to make the cut: 1. Provide light in a needed spot. 2. Look good on or off. 3. Add character to the room it sits in.
If you're in the market for a lamp the store Meli Melo in Bernardsville, NJ has beautiful and unique ones!

Welcom to Vintage Chic Goods
I decided to start this blog to share my love of all things vintage and chic, thus the name of my blog.
Friends and family are always asking me where I find the things I display around my home. This blog is a way to share with them and anyone who wants to follow, where I find my favorite things and my inspiration for incoporating them into my home.
My goal is to post unique stores I find in the NY/NJ area that carry all sorts of my favorite goods, from reclaimed corbels to beautiful stationary. I love anything that can spark a conversation or idea for good design. I hope you have fun discovering with me:)
