Living Room Makeover update!

So, This week I found some time to continue with my updates for the living room. I am still trying to blend layers of whites and cream. Here are some things I have added to the room based on my pinterest board:

White Linen Curtains:

Natural Jute Rug:

Handmade sheet music wreath (this is my music lesson room too):

I also hand distressed my mirror with my favorite paint color, "French Canvas" by ben moore and painted an accent table using an antique paint technique, I love how it came out! Sitting on top of my little table I have some coverless books, just like on my pinterest board:

Last thing is to finish painting the walls and add my chevron print accent pillows. Before and after pictures coming soon:)

Designer Bedroom...Get the Look for less!

I love the look of this bedroom for a few reasons: 1. It's neutral pallet is warm and inviting 2. Simple pops of pattern add interest 3. Having a little seating area is what a master bedroom needs! Want to get this look?  The cost of this bedroom was well over $15,000 with custom window coverings, hand carved chairs, hand blocked printed pillow covers, custom headboard and wool rug. I think my finds will get you the same look for much less. Click on the links and see the products I found using the room above as my inspiration! Let me know what you think!

Simple, Fun Updates!

I had ordered number stencils to use for some of my projects for my Etsy shop. As soon as I got them, I had an idea to stencil them on to my kitchen chairs. I could not be happier with how they turned out and I am so glad I used my favorite "gray squirrel" paint instead of black. This was a quick update to an ordinary item in my home, but it makes an impact when you walk in the kitchen and also makes me smile! Check out my previous blog, "Number It" for more inspiration of items with numbers on them.

Living Room Update Continues...

The past few weeks have been very busy, but this weekend I need to get my mind off things, so I have decided to paint the living room. I still haven't decided on the color, but I am close. I'm hoping to put my nephew James to work and help me with a few things:)
Still a lot of details to think of...especially the windows...I'm thinking light curtain panels but maybe just a simple sheer decorative shade...decisions, decisions!
Have any suggestions? Let me know!

Living Room Design Inspirations

I started my board on Pintrest to come up with things to inspire my living room makeover. I always think this is a good place to start for a few reasons: 1. It lets you make thoughtful design decisions of what you truly want your room to be. 2. Instead of jumping in and picking random things you love, seeing a page of what you love in one cohesive collection will help make your vision true to what you want. 3. It's a great tool to figure out what your style is if you are unsure...seeing things you are drawn to in one place can say a lot about your design style.
Here are some picks from my board on Pintrest. What's your opinion on my board? Leave a comments and let me know!!!
